Even though there is currently no scientific evidence that wearing eyewear can provide protection against the coronavirus, the American Academy of Ophthalmology recently reported that temporarily switching to wearing eyewear instead of contacts is advisable.

We remind all to continue to practice proper hand washing as per Centers for Disease Control Guidelines and avoid touching your face and eyes. Keep your eyewear and their cases clean and remember to carry a backup pair along with your current prescription with you at all times.
